Bing & Grondahl - Christmas Plates (18) - Porcelain

Description
Bing & Grondahl - Christmas Plates (18) - Porcelain
Denmark - 1962 - 1979

18 commemorative Bing & Grondahl Christmas plates in sequence, years: 1962-1979, by Henry Thelander. All are factory first quality in near mint condition (photos) without chips or cracks.
Traditionally, Christmas plates have been displayed (the perforations on the back can be used wall hanging). However, they are made from hard-wearing glazed porcelain and can used for dining. Indeed, Danes increasingly use these plates in the traditional Christmas lunches that are such an important part of Danish "julehygge".

Starting in 1895, B&G were the first Danish company to manufacture Christmas plates, something that has become a much loved annual tradition. B&G's plates depict traditional scenes of Danish Christmas culture in striking cobalt and white porcelain. A wonderful seasonal Danish design classic.
