Old wooden slit drum of the Zande tribe. Early 20th century or older.

Found by Philippe Laermans in Liège. colonial family, bought it myself from Alain Guisson in the 1990s.

The style corresponds to that of museum pieces, it represents an antelope.

These slit drums were used to communicate between villages and to listen to festivities, this drum has the required diphthong.

1 leg has been restored, was broken during transportation. On the side there are 2 traces of local restorations.

Size: 84 cm, +/- 100 kg.
