FRENCH VICTORIAN REVERSIBLE SATIN BEDCOVER. - Satin - Early 20th century

Description
FRENCH VICTORIAN REVERSIBLE SATIN BEDCOVER. - Satin - Early 20th century
France

A magnificent reversible satin damask hand quilted bedcover.
It can be used thus on either side.
The gold and grey exquisite satin side are beautiful soft shades whereas the reverse side is a vibrant red.
The actual design is a overall trellis with a flower and leaf posy on each quilted panel .
The four sides have a soft green cord sewn on which has been accentuated with a platted cord on each corner which gives the whole a interesting finish.
Please note this quilt has been entirely hand made and finished as no machine could take the thickness of the quilt.
It is in very good condition, and came to light in a attic room of a local castle recently and most probably been there for a very long time.
Fortunately it was covered in 2 bedlinen sheets which certainly retained
the beautiful colours and the quilt itself.
PLEASE NOTE:
The quilt is heavy due to its quilting.
