The FLOS Taccia table lamp is a design by Achille Castiglioni & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. The table lamp casts an indirect and reflected light. The outside of the reflector of the Taccia is power-coated in white and the inside is varnished in shiny white. The Taccia's diffuser is made of PMMA and is adjustable. The body of the Taccia comes in aluminium, black or aluminium. The on-off switch is located on the wire and also has a dimmer.
Practical, clear lighting due to the large reflector and the diffusion of the light. Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni saw the Taccia, which they designed in 1962, as the Mercedes of lamps; a symbol of success. The foot, shaped like a classical column, may have something to do with this. With their Taccia design the famous designer brothers did however not aim for prestige. They were just looking for a way to keep the foot cool.
