Unique Austin Healey Alexander Sprite!
An original Alexander tuned Sprite of 1959! There are 3 more Alexander Sprites known worldwide. So grab this opportunity!
This car was found in Sweden. The owner who bought it in 1975 kept the vehicle dry in his garage for approx. 40 years.
Alexander was very well known during the 1950s and 1960s for the preparation of racing cars. This car has also changed enormously for improved performance. The engine is tuned and it has a close ratio gearbox, adjustable shock absorbers, dual exhaust system, distinctive set of wider wheels, Weber carburettor, improved suspension, speedometer up to 220 km/h, ORIGINAL SEBRING STEERING WHEEL!!! Alexander gear knob and of course a very unique Alexander hardtop for more streamlining! You can easily remove it and drive with the aero screens, as can be seen in some of the photos.
This special car is the first Alexander Sprite that has been offered for many years, so you should not miss this opportunity! The photos of the Magazine date from 1982. The Sprite comes with the Swedish license plate CAD 087.
The paintwork was last repainted more than 40 years ago, so don't expect a shiny car in competition condition. Given its uniqueness, it would be very wise to keep it in this beautiful patina condition!!!
You can see on the inside of the bonnet that it was adapted by Alexander in the 1960s. The headlights were once flattened and moved next to the grille, see example photos of those years. Additionally, the bonnet was made hinging forward by Alexander.
You are more than welcome to view this car in our showroom and to take it for a test drive prior to placing a bid.
This vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands.
