Beautiful portraits of a couple in pastel technique (chalk) and heightened with white. Clearly the good middle class. During this period, during the Biedermeier period, it was strongly on the rise and would have an increasing social influence on state, government, trade, education, etc. They could be Dutch or German.
Usually, such portrait pairs usually have become separated over the years. This lady and gentleman are still happily together after 200 years. It is unfortunately unknown who they are.
Framed in a stately black wooden frame. Unfortunately, it has some flaws here and there (see the pictures).
The drawings themselves are in good condition.
Dimensions: 30.5 x 22 cm. Dimensions: 38.5 x 30 cm (incl. frame)
