Description
Dutch school (17th century) Attributed to Nicolaes Berchem (1620-1683) - Interior barn scene
Oil on canvas - Not signed - 17th century

Beautiful interior barn scene from the end of 17th century.

The painting is full of life and there is numerous characters represented. You can notably spot a horse, donkey, sheep, goats...On the background there is a gathering of people conversing. Notice as well the interesting hats as well the daily objects represented. It's a real glimpse into 17th century life.

The painting is attributed to Nicolaes Berchem and dated from the end of 17th century according to a statement of an expert in 1973 (see letter that will be included in the sale and the translation in English).

The painting has been restored, probably in the last 30 years and the original canvas has been "maroufled" on a new canvas. There is some lack in the original canvas (see pictures). The frame is probably from the time of restoration and in good condition.

The painting is clean and is ready to be displayed !
