With the emergence of automotive and auto-rails - cars and rail buses - car manufacturers started to focus on railways around the 1930s. They had experience with combustion engines and single-piece bodywork, while car sales were declining because of the economic crisis.
Even Bugatti — car manufacturer established in Elzas and from Italy — released an autorail in 1933. It stood apart because of its streamlined design and very high speed.
Bugatti is a car brand such as Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Bmw, Audi, Lancia, Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, Saab, Fiat, Maserati, Bentley, Rolls Royce etc.
