In 1938, the Centrale Bond van Ziekenfondsen (CBOZ) decided to
form a national health insurance fund,
which local funds could join.
The 1941 Sickness Insurance Act gave a strong boost
to the new sickness insurance fund.
Many small rural funds joined.
Five hospital nursing associations also participated. I
n 1947 many small divisions were merged into rayons.
ANOZ merged with the health insurers ANOVA and ZAO in 1999.

The name ANOZ finally disappeared in 2003 when the three labels were replaced by the name AGIS Health Insurance. (source; K.H.Z. - Heritage Guide)
