History:
High-speed traffic on the "Neubaustrecken" with its many tunnels places particularly high demands on the safety concepts of the track. An essential part of this is formed by the tunnel rescue trains. These trains have been developed for the - hopefully never occurring - exceptional case of a burning train in a tunnel. In addition to the actual transport of rescue personnel to the place of deployment and firefighting with the carried extinguishers, these trains have more tasks. Due to the smoke development and lack of oxygen in the tunnel, the gastight cars need independent energy and air supply. Locomotive No. 1 even features a video and heat photo camera. A passenger lock with smoke protection allows the rescue of injured persons. After medical care in the ambulance, they are taken to the transport carriage. When this carriage is full, the shuttle part, locomotive 2 and transport carriage 2, is disconnected from the rest of the train set, and drives to the tunnel exit. The shuttle part then returns to the train set and connects gas tight again. In order to ensure comprehensive care of the newly built routes (Neubaustrecken), such trains are stationed in Kornwestheim, Mannheim, Würzburg, Fulda, Kassel and Hildesheim. Every rescue train is constantly ready, as long as passenger trains on the Neubaustrecken are on their way. For this purpose, all generators are kept at operating temperature, with work temperature in the ambulance and the extinguishing equipment is protected from frost.
Has been tested and is in good working order.
The set is in new condition (see, among other things, the axles and pickup shoes) except for the original packaging which has light signs of wear. With all booklets.
