This sabre corresponds to the standard pattern M 1837, but the vessel is executed in brass, in vase form. Inside the handle has a hairline crack, the handle is made of black horn with slanted grooves running upwards. The blade has the strong curvature typical of Hungarian-Austrian regiments, with Pandur tips.
These types of sabres were used by volunteer formations, such as Civil Regiments and Municipal Regiments, in the revolutionary years of 1848.
The sabre is in very good condition, slightly spotty blade.
