Pair of Liége Box lock percussion pistols circa 1840 in case. Round steel screw able barrels , with proof marks ELG barrel left side ; the body decorated with vegetalists motifs, hammers " Tete de Dauphin" .The signature of AUGUSTE FRANCOTTE "AF CROWNED". Ebony " neo renaissance" stocks, finishing decorated steel butt, folding trigger ;working fine, springs are strong.Presence of moisture being hardly cleaned.
A rare jewel.

In a wood case ( this is not is original case ) , used, with key. Interior lined with Bordeaux velvet, compartmentalized, containing: Apocryphal powder flask, bullet mold .

AUGUSTE FRANCOTTE-The company was one of the principal manufacturers of weapons of Liege during second half of the XIXe century, until 1914, when its activities were blocked by German occupation.
Company founded in 1810, especially active between 1860 and 1914, established Rue Mont Saint Martin 61, in Liege.
