Moto Guzzi 8-cylinder GP 500 (1955-1957): Giuseppe Colnago, who came from the 4- cylinder Gilera 500, was perfectly at ease with the Mandello del Lario motorcycle, and he won in Syracuse in March 1957. This is the first (of two) victories that the 8-cylinder Guzzi will achieve. The Lombard driver of this 8-cylinder would appreciate the top speed and braking stability given by the bottom swinging links fork. The Moto Guzzi 8-cylinder GP 500 is a milestone of the Mandello company. Designed by engineer Giulio Cesare Carcano in 1954, it raced from 1955 to 1957. Max. power 80 hp, max. speed over 280 km/h.
