Beautiful, intact and rare milk glass drinking cup, made in France in the mid-18th century. With milk glass, it was attempted to reproduce Japanese porcelain: thin, light, almost transparent and decorated with enamel paint, eventually porcelain became so cheap that the production of milk glass no longer paid off. Not many milk glass pieces were preserved.
This cup shows a lady in rich dress with a big hat, above a 'ribbon' of figures and greenery. The cup is 10 cm high, the top diameter is 8 cm, bottom 6 cm with a clear pontil mark on the bottom.
