Karl Veitz (born 1956 in Nuremberg, Germany, 2009)
was a German painter; master student at the Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, Academy Prize 1983/84. Long stays in India and Morocco, was regarded as an extraordinary phenomenon in the art scene, without attaining the significance that corresponded to his painterly talent.
In his choice of motif, he develops monotonous, artistic quality through detail-oriented variation and a high level of mastery. He was a highly talented artist and an extremely honest, straightforward character. This also influenced his design method. Since he has always been very self-critical, he has reworked each of his works countless times without ever being really satisfied. He had a particular aversion to routine and his own artistry. "Wenn ein Bild zu schön und glatt wird, breche ich es", he used to say.
Mixed media, signed in lead "Karl Veitz" and dated "27.3.2000" at lower left and stamped with the estate stamp "Nachlass Karl Veitz" at the back.
