Late 19th Century beautiful sculpture depicting a colonial explorer "Explorateur".

Bronze-color patinated spelter (possibly repatinated). Very detailed, quality sculpture.

The sculpture is signed 'Charles Anfrie’. Charles Anfrie (1833-1905) was a French artist who was specialized in figurative sculptures during the art nouveau period.

The sculpture seems to be after the model of Ernest Jules Ferrand (1846-1932), since there is a sign on the bottom of the base which states :
'EXPLORATEUR
Par Ferrand (sculpt)'

Condition : good, although a finger of the right hand is partly missing it is barely noticeable. See pictures to make an informed decision.
