Vincino (Palermo 1946 - Rome 2018).
The cartoonist Vincino was above all the founder and editor in chief of the weekly “Il Male” (1978-1982), which changed Italian satire in five years. It was an iconoclastic newspaper, radically left-wing but far from the PCI, provocative, mocking, not surprisingly called “Il Male”. The magazine’s trademark was the false front page of a newspaper, but “Il Male” was much more: for example, the testing ground of some of the greatest drawers of those years, such as Andrea Pazienza, Roland Topor, Tanino Liberatore, and the debate that hosted scandalous articles on taboo topics such as terrorism and relations between the mafia and politics.
This work is part of a collection of 2000 original drawings made by 100 Italian artists selected by i-AM Foundation for UNIQUE Edition Press.
