Anton Mauve was a Dutch painter and graphic artist.
From 1854 until 1857, he started as a student in the studio of Pieter Frederik van Os.
He also worked with Wouterus Verschuur for some months in 1858.
Working with Gabriël and Heijl, he painted along the lines of the Hague School.
His most productive years were spent in Laren NH, where he was one of the founders of the Laren School.
