Herman Bieling (1887-1964).
Two large woodcuts with circus scene ± 1950.
1. Two clowns 43 x 33 cm. Signed “Bieling ‘50” in the bottom right margin. Titled “Clowns” on the bottom left margin. Signature "BIELING" in the wood block. On all sides are 5 - 6 cm of margin, the edge of the left margin was torn in some places, but not near the image. The paper is slightly uneven, which is not visible behind glass. By the way, the wood cut is completely cool (see photos).
2. Three clowns 25 x 39 cm. Signed “Bieling ‘48” in the bottom right margin. Titled "Circus Knie" on the bottom left in the margin and also stating "gedr(ukt) d(e) artist." Margins 5 - 8 cm. Some of the artist's black retouches, where done where the black print was not deep enough. By the way, the wood cut is in perfect condition (see photos).
