Albert Geudens (1869-1949) - Interieur met spinnende vrouw

Description
Albert Geudens (1869-1949) - Interieur met spinnende vrouw
Lithograph - Hand signed - 1869 - 1949

Colour etching by Albert Geudens, hand-signed and numbered with pencil, A. Geudens 123/250. Small moisture spots around the etching.

Albert Geudens was a watercolourist, etching, pastelist, painter and draughtsman. He attended the art academy of Mechelen and Antwerp. He preferred floral still lifes, genre scenes, church interiors, portraits, cityscapes and still lifes. He painted poetic views of old Mechelen: typical nooks in the beguinage, interiors there, old buildings and houses. Through the game of light and shadow and through the soft shades of colour, he emphasised the atmospheric and somewhat melancholic aspect of houses and neighbourhoods and of their inhabitants.
