Beautiful old giclee (test print) of a drawing by Fortunino Matania, intended for the magazine 'Britania and Eve' in 1928.
It illustrates a historic scene, where Queen Elisabeth I rides on horseback through the streets of London to meet her people.
Hand-signed by Matania himself.
Matania was an Italian artist famous for his countless depictions from classical antiquity, war scenes and illustrations of the British royal family.
Much of his work was lost in World War II when his studio was bombed.
His work was published in Illustrazione Italiana (1895-1902), The Graphic (1901-1904), the Sphere (1904-1963) and Brittania and Eve.
This beautiful giclee will be carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
