This ladle is only used for the septennial ceremonies of the Poro.
The receptacle is topped by a head of a bearded man, true archetype of a Senufo ancestor. Its neck is coiled up by a sacred snake which comes to "drink” at the rim of the container.
The suspended part of the snake was glued back.
