Four nicely used ideophones (thumb harps, sanza, mbira).
These kind of African musical instruments consists of a wooden board (often fitted with a resonator) with attached staggered metal tines, played by holding the instrument in the hands and plucking the tines with the thumbs (at minimum), the right forefinger and sometimes the left forefinger..
1. Sanza with 7 metal tines.
Collected in 1950.

Due of use some wear at the front side.
2. Sanza with 10 tines.
Height: 23,5 cm, width: 13 cm, depth of sound box 2,5 cm.
3. Sanza with 26 tines
Height: 21 cm, width: 18 cm, depth: 3 cm
Nicely used condition.
4. Sanza with 15 tines.
Front side has been decorated with diamond pattern.
Height: 23 cm, width: 16 cm, depth: 4,5 cm.
