30th Infantry Division (United States),
The American 30th Infantry Division, better known as The Old Hickory, also known as "Roosevelt's SS" or "The Work Horse Of The Western Front",, was an infantry division of the U.S. Army, which existed from 1917 to 1974, and both in the First and First World War II did battle. The division was part of the Army National Guard, the United States military reserve. In the Netherlands, the Old Hickory division was responsible for the Liberation of Maastricht and large parts of South Limburg in 1944. In Belgium, the division played a key role in the Ardennes offensive.
