Beautiful and distinctive mask from the Nafana tribe of the Ivory Coast. This is a Nafana Bedu mask, which in dance ceremonies has the function of expelling evil spirits from the village community.

The mask is carved with characteristic rectangular parts decorated with geometric patterns. The mask is, with slight use in good condition. The top has a tribal repair.

The masks were worn on the forehead with the wearer looking through the mask. Therefore, the mask has no viewing holes.
