This woodblock print is part of the series "One Hundred Chrysanthemums". Throughout Japan, the chrysanthemum is revered as a symbol of durability and perfection, and it is the official coat of arms of the emperor. These lyrical illustrations are a very good reflection of the individual character of the many different varieties. With expressive lines and vibrant colours.

The woodblock print is in good condition. Backed with double thin paper (see photo 8) which is only connected at 1 side (see photo 9 of back opened paper). The binding holes are still visible. Small spots on the right.
