Seller's opinion: In the 1900s the rose pattern was in fashion in all carpet-weaving countries, it was quite special and its most beautiful examples were made in Moldova, this lasted until the 1960s due to how popular it was. Moldovan kilim weaving arrived in Moldova with the Gagauz Turks from Central Asia. The Gagauz Turks are Christians, inhabit an autonomous territory in Moldova and still speak Turkish. These kilims were mainly hung on walls and also used on the floor. Most of the pieces are therefore in very good condition. I was in Moldova myself, carefully selected this carpet and imported it in December 2019. Kilim weight: 9.65 kg. The carpet lies very evenly on the floor. Since I store the carpets folded, there is a crease in the middle. It will disappear within a day of putting it on the floor.
