Les Hospices de Beaune is the name of the joint hospitals in Beaune
founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rollin and his wife Guigone de Salins. Reportedly, Beaune was inhabited by less fortunate people at the time. The Hospices have received numerous gifts over the centuries, including many vineyards.
During a large auction, the donated wines are traded on the third Sunday of November, among wine lovers and professionals from around the world. This folk festival is all about tasting and discovering burgundy wines.
