Figure - Feathers, Wood - Lwena - Angola
Mid 20th century - Good

A good size female Lwena figure in wood with some millefiori glass beads ( red, white, blue) around the neck , copper earnings one with an engraved number 230 and unreadable inscription. Fiber skirt and feathers on top.

Representing the chiefs wife in full ornate ( mukwakuhico). The feathers on top symbolise human hair.

H= 45cm, 60 cm with the feathers . Sold with a metal stand.

Provenance: Gaethan Schoonbroodt collection, Verviers.
