A big Karen Wemba mask from the Mossi tribe with a complete figure on top and a big nose .
Provenance: Donald Taitt, an abstract painter from Paris born in 1930 who collected African Art..

H= 90 cm. Can be attached to the wall, no stand included. Black pigments Remains of white paint spots.

Despite it's aspect this mask was probably made for decoration.

Mossi kingdom of Yatenga workshop. The elegant cubistic construction of the human form features long legs The present figure is distinguished by its perfect cubist architecture, the lower mask is especially impressive with a losange mouth, triangular nose and big round eyes symbolizing a owl.
