Beautiful bust of Christ with crown of thorns and blood flowing down the face.
The work is highly detailed and refined. It was created by the sculptor Richard Aurili (1834-1914).
Aurili was an Italian sculptor who worked mainly in Belgium and France.
The statue has a bronze patina but is made of full plaster and is mounted on a marble pedestal.
The first five photos show the actual colour of the statue.
The white spots are due to the light.
