The rider's head is removable.
Dimensions: 32 x 26 cm; 14 x 9.5 cm.
Sculpture in round lump made of polychrome terracotta and glazed. The piece depicts a rider on a horse both treated with a volumetric modelling of a hieratic character and very synthetic lines. The human figure from which the head is separated, is dressed in court clothes that show his social class, thus interpreting the piece as typical of a grave goods of the Ming dynasty.
Purchased by the current owner in 2017 from a private Spanish collection previous 1980.
