Background information:
The Italian designer Marco Zanini (1954) obtained his university degree in architecture in Florence Italy in 1978. As a student Marco Zanini studied for some time in the USA, where he worked as a designer for the Argonaut Company in Los Angeles and freelanced as a designer in San Francisco.

In 1975 he met Ettore Sottsass and worked in his practice from 1978. In 1981 Marco Zanini, together with Ettore Sottsass, Barbara Radice, Michele De Lucchi, Aldo Cibic and Matteo Thun, was one of the founders of the Memphis Group.

Marco Zanini exhibited work at all exhibitions in Memphis design. Marco Zanini designed countless colourful objects made of hand-blown glass for Memphis; even before his Memphis period Marco Zanini designed the 'Cassiopea' vase in 1980. In 1982 Marco Zanini designed the 'Alpha Centauri' vase. Marco Zanini's ceramic objects are as playful as anything he has designed in glass. In 1983 Marco Zanini designed the teapots 'Colorado', 'Sepik' and 'Mississippi', which were made by Ceramiche Flavia Bitossi for Memphis. In 1981 Marco Zanini designed the 'Dublin' sofa and in 1983 he designed the 'Union', a bookshelf. Marco Zanini worked for Sottsass & Associati for a long time. In addition, he has taught at numerous institutes and universities around the world.

Condition corresponding to its age and history of use, such as light spots, scratches and some fleabites on the teapot, sugar bowl and underside cups, see last series of pictures.
