This fine Sword is Turkish, with an 18 Century or earlier Persian made blade, forged from very fine Wootz . The blade is marked with the Assad Allah (Assadullah ) marking in gold inlay (true inlay), the famous sword maker that his name was justified this fame to forged quality damascus blades only. The cross guard and grip strap are silver and the massiv carved grips are special african Rh. horn. Original scabbard with black chagrin leather cover with spiral stitching and long silver locket and chape.
All silver parts marked with the ottoman Tughra , seal of Sultan Mahmud II

blade with scattered patches of dark staining and fairly deep pitting.
