Oil on panel - Hand signed - XIXe siècle

Oil on panel 32/39, unframed
44/32 with frame:
French school.
Signed L Boulangé, born in Verzy (Marne) on May 12, 1812, died in January 1878.
He was a pupil of Eugene Delacroix
He painted mainly scenes of rural life.
His paintings can be found in the museums of Chateauroux and Reims. The painting shows a very bucolic scene representing a fisherman and a few characters talking with a washerwoman on a bridge. The painting is oily and creamy, we can feel the pleasure that the artist must have had in painting this charming little work.
The painter who was a student of Delacroix shows through this work all the knowledge and teaching he had been able to receive.
