Dutch engraver and draftsman. Pieter Bast was born in Antwerp, but little more is known about his early childhood than that he was a child of Josyntje Plantijn, who was part of the famous printer family Plantijn.

Condition: A very good early impression on laid paper with full plate border and wide margins. Flattened middle fold. Excellent condition with no folds, tears or stains.
