Light bronze ceremonial comb from the Moluccas archipelago in Eastern Indonesia.
The character or Orang of this anthropomorphic comb is surrounded by two chickens, which is very common in the tribal art of the Moluccas archipelago. The woman is in labour position with her legs wide apart. Heavy earrings hang from these ears. The profile of the nose is typical of Tanimbar and Leti art.
Motifs from the ancestral Dongs on culture at the intersection of the teeth of the comb and the handle are
Light bronze with dark brown patina.
