Born on 10th June 1880 in Chatou (Yvelines) and died on 8th September 1954 ain Garches (Hauts-de-Seine), he is a French painter and one of the founders of Fauvisme. He is also a painter of sets and costumes for ballets and theatre, engraver, illustrator, sculptor and writer. Friend of the painters Pablo Picasso, Braque, Apollinaire, Kees van Dongen and Max Jacob... He frequents the Bateau-Lavoir.
