Ca.300 AD. An interesting Roman bronze ring with round hoop; forming an oval-shaped bezel with God Mars- Mars is the god of war in Roman religion and mythology, and his Greek counterpart is Ares. Though he is primarily known as the god of war, he is also known as a guardian of agriculture, the god of spring, fertility, virility, and growth in nature. Good condition; wearable; D:19mm; UK S US 9;9.5g; Provenance: From an old British collection, acquired on the UK art market in the 1980s.
