British Guiana the Essequibo and Potaro Rivers, with An Account of a Visit to the Recently-discovered Kaieteur Falls. With notes on the geology of Guiana.
Folding map - Plate of the Falls - very good - Size: 8vo.
A day by day account of a difficult trip upriver to the falls. One of the things this book points up was the difficulty the photographer had. The weight of the equipment as well as the complications of setups in the field. Travelling upriver by a small flotilla of small boats and the need for constant portages to get around falls and rapids, and the fact that one of the boats used had the name “ungrateful wretch” gave the story a slightly zany touch.
Endpapers are good - no foxing.
Pictures are part of the description.
