Castelli - Vase, (38 cm) - Majolica (leadglaze)

Description
Castelli - Vase, (38 cm) - Majolica (leadglaze)
Italy - 1950-1974

A late Renaissance-style vase in the shape of an amphora with two handles. Dating back to the mid-20th century. The virtuous realization of the numerous coils that make up the snake-shaped handles is impressive. Masterfully handmade. Decorated in a Compendiary style on the foot and with landscape themes on the body. A pair of masks at the base of the handles complete the decoration. The vase is 38 cm high and has a max. width of 22 cm. There are few minor erosions and some original flaws due to firing (such as cracks and detachment at the junction points between handles and opening) which, however, do not affect the integrity of the item.
