I have here a Rare book BRAZIL by Pierre Denis, translated and with a historical chapter by Bernard Miall and a supplementary chapter by Dawson A Vindin.  It is a first edition published by T Fisher Unwin, London, in 1911.  It covers the history of Brazil, its landscape, ways of travel, political and economic life, money and exchange, Sao Paolo and its agricultural labour and small holdings, the valorisation of coffee, the colonisation of Parana and the Rio Grande do Sol, the negro populations, Ceara and emigration to the Amazon basin.  It has 36 plates and 3 large colour fold-out maps at the back of the book - a Map of Brazil; plus two on the railway system.

Dark blue hardboards with a gilt coat of arms to the front board and gilt lettering to the spine.  In very good condition inside and out.  388 pages, 22.5 cm x 15 cm.
