Eight prints (on 7 pages) cut out from the 1685 edition of the book in two volumes Tome Premiere & Tome Seconde "Contes et nouvelles en vers de Monsieur de La Fontaine: Nouvelle edition enrichie de Tailles-douce" by the French Poet Jean de la Fontaine (1621-1695).

Published in Amsterdam by Henry Desbordes (fl. 1680-1711)

Cut out from the book, along the border-lines, thereby omitting the title of each story. One page with image on both sides. The others have text on the verso, and some also have an ornamental design (see photos of front & back).

Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708) Dutch painter, sculptor, medal maker, goldsmith, etcher, and publisher. Born in Amsterdam. Working in in 1668 in Paris and from 1687 in Haarlem. A major book illustrator, producing several thousand prints.
