With the privilege of the Comédie-Française - 9 volumes (complete) - Paris Michel de l'Ormeraie, 1972 - Over 3200 pages, 196 vignettes and tailpieces engraved on steel by Laurent Cars and Joullain, 33 figures and a portrait based on Boucher, Blondel and Oppenordt- Note by the publisher concerning these sublime bindings: “I put reconstructed the blond binding of the time with its transparency and modulations in colour that only manual processing could obtain; the marbled endpapers are multi-coloured. I reconstructed the old tooling (engraved by hand), gilding on both covers, all gilt edges, gilded interior borders, everything in fine gold leaf; the coat of arms of the Marquis of Allègre are enhanced with colour”- 12 kg- 27 x 20 cm.
Books in impeccable condition except for rubbing from use on volume 4, but nothing serious. Copy numbered 7007 on the last volume. very beautiful set, quite decorative bindings.
