Ford - Taunus 12M - 1954

Rare Ford Taunus 12M Globe. A genuine barn find. Has been standing still for more than 10 years and needs to be rebooted. The engine block turns, the car shifts and clutches. The tyres are hard. The left side window sits inside the door. Car requires welding The former owner started refurbishing, but unfortunately was not able to finish this. With many original details. The car is not entirely complete: trims, right direction indicator glass and battery missing. Original ignition key included. Various separate / spare parts present (see the pictures at the end of the photo series). Type plate, chassis number and engine block number are legible. No documents included. Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_-M2Jqe2wU A rare model: the post-war generation of the Ford Taunus. The car can be recognised from the globe on the bonnet. The globe represents Ford’s global fame and presence. The 12M (type) stands for masterpieces. A bit of history: after a break caused by the war, the Ford factory in Cologne started producing again in 1952. At the time, they were building the first ultra modern post-war German Ford. This saloon was a reliable and robust luxury car, designed for Ford’s richer clientele. G13AL is the code of this model. G stands for Germany, 1 stands for developed after 1951, 3 stands for 1.2 litre engine type, A for air and L for luxury. Why L for luxury? Because the standard model G13A, the Taunus 12 without the M, was made for less wealthy customers. Registration documents: no. License plate: - A written sales agreement is possible. This is a used vehicle. The Ford can be viewed and picked up in Ewijk (Gelderland), the Netherlands. Transport is possible via a transport company (at buyer’s cost).
