A rare model: the post-war generation of the Ford Taunus. The car can be recognised from the globe on the bonnet. The globe represents Ford’s global fame and presence. The 12M (type) stands for masterpieces.
A bit of history: after a break caused by the war, the Ford factory in Cologne started producing again in 1952. At the time, they were building the first ultra modern post-war German Ford. This saloon was a reliable and robust luxury car, designed for Ford’s richer clientele.
G13AL is the code of this model. G stands for Germany, 1 stands for developed after 1951, 3 stands for 1.2 litre engine type, A for air and L for luxury. Why L for luxury? Because the standard model G13A, the Taunus 12 without the M, was made for less wealthy customers.
