Twice signed, once in the plate and again at the bottom right with pencil.
Kurt Peiser was an Antwerp-based artist of German origin. He was a painter with great social and humanitarian compassion. He was also an artist, watercolour painter, lithographer and etcher. His style is realistic with Impressionist and Expressionist influences. He attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. He painted marines, fishing life and dockworkers as well as more emotionally charged images of poverty and misery. Several books and prestigious, leading exhibitions about his life's work as an artist followed.
