Magnificent and rare etching/aquatint " l'élévateur " by Pierre Paulus, Belgian school, Châtelet, 16 March 1881 - Brussels, 17 August 1959

Baron Pierre Paulus de Châtelet was a Walloon painter who gained notoriety for the exhibition l'Art wallon in Charleroi in 1911. During the interwar period he exhibits in various places in Europe and the United States.
In the wake of Constantin Meunier he cites his subjects with workers and miners, he also drew the design for the Walloon flag in 1913. In the municipality of Saint-Gillis, where Paul lived for a long time, a park is named after him.

This work of art is a rare scene of Paul. It is signed "Pierre Paulus" and is in very beautiful antique and original condition (dans son jus... ), correctly framed behind beautiful old glass with felt passe-partout and blackwood frame from the time.
