RIAA Platinum LP award for Smash Mouth's Astro Lounge. This was their second studio album released on June 8, 1999. The album was certified Platinum® by the RIAA on Sept. 24, 1999 for one million copies sold.
The track "All Star" became a major hit, rising to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and becoming what is probably the group's best known song. It was also featured in the movie Shrek. The group also covered The Monkees "I'm A Believer" (penned by Neil Diamond) for that soundtrack.
