Christian Baechler - Place animée
Oil on canvas - Hand signed - 1980

Very decorative, brightly coloured, an oil on canvas signed at the bottom right of Christian Baechler from the 1980s representing a busy street in the heart of a village. The canvas is correctly stretched on its wooden stretcher. Renowned and listed painter, Christian BAECHLER (1947- ) In 1970, he received his first box of oil colours. He researched the various movements of painting, especially Impressionism and Fauvism, and assiduously visited the ‘Musée du Jeu de Paume’ in Paris. Things really clicked for him with André HAMBOURG in Trouville-sur-Mer in 1972. Later, he attended courses at the ‘Petit Collège’ in Lyons with Jean-Jacques TARRARE, who described his painting as ‘Fusaresque’. His time visiting the studio of Jean FUSARO impressed him. Listed in Akoun 2019 (see photo). Very careful shipping with tracking.
