Antique instrument set produced by W. Walb. Nachf. Nottung Heidelberg Germany. Probably early 20th century. Purchased from medical and optical instrument producer J.N. Paes Jr. Resedastraat 2a Leiden.
The box is made of wood with 2 internal hinges. Closes with a decorative copper lock. On top, a brass plate of Paes, instrumentenmakerij.
The set is incomplete, but contains 6 scalpels with ebony wooden handle, draw hook, 2 suture needles and 2 other unknown instruments.
Some ridges in between which the blades fit are missing. The box itself is in good condition.
